About the QBRA

The QUALICUM BEACH RESIDENTS’ ASSOCIATION is a Society incorporated under the Societies Act of British Columbia.

The QBRA is a community group committed to inform, educate, promote, and advocate on behalf of the residents of Qualicum Beach on matters, social, cultural, economic and environmental that affect the residents of our community. The QBRA strives to remain non-partisan and is committed to protect and enhance the quality of life for anyone who considers themself to be part of the Qualicum Beach community. We work to increase community involvement in issues that impact residents of Qualicum Beach.
QBRA Bylaws
The Purpose of the QBRA is to:
• Promote the maintenance of the small town character of Qualicum Beach in harmony with the natural environment and consistent with the policies of the Official Community Plan;

• Promote and safeguard Qualicum Beach’s urban forest (on both public and private lands), environmentally sensitive lands including wetlands and watersheds as well as the surrounding agricultural and rural lands;

• Promote and safeguard sustainable development, incremental growth, heritage values, green space, parks and trails within the community;

• Provide a forum for concerned residents to discuss issues and create ways to become proactively involved in matters that are important to the residents of Qualicum Beach;

• Promote standards of inclusion, transparency, meaningful engagement, and accountability between Local Government and the residents of Qualicum Beach;



• Advocate for adequate political representation for the population size of the community and its changing demographic; and

​• Interact on behalf of residents with the Town of Qualicum Beach and other appropriate government or jurisdictional authorities with respect to current and future requirements of the community.
